Requirements for the tourist invitation

To obtain a valid tourist invitation to visit Italy, you must meet the following general requirements:

a. Travel documents: Make sure you have a valid passport with at least six months’ validity remaining from your expected date of arrival in Italy. Also check whether a visa is required for citizens from the Central African Republic.

b. Invitation from a host: To obtain a tourist invitation, you need an Italian person or organisation to formally invite you. The invitation should include information such as the purpose of the visit, the length of stay and the assurance that the person or organisation will take responsibility for your expenses during your stay in Italy.

c. Proof of financial means: You may be required to provide proof of sufficient financial means to cover travel, accommodation and living expenses during your stay in Italy. This proof may include the bank guarantee as proof of sufficient financial means to cover expenses during your stay in Italy.

d. Medical insurance: It is important to have medical insurance that covers medical expenses during your stay in Italy. Make sure you obtain adequate insurance that meets the required standards. Health insurance valid for the period of your stay.

Relevant European legislation

As a member of the Schengen Area, Italy applies European immigration legislation. The main relevant legislation is Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 July 2009 establishing a Community Code on Visas (Visa Code). This regulation sets out the rules and procedures for the issuance of visas for short stays in the Schengen countries.

It is important to consult the official website of the Italian embassy in Cameroon or of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to obtain up-to-date information on the specific requirements and application procedures for obtaining a tourist invitation to Italy.

In conclusion, if you are a foreign citizen from the Central African Republic and wish to make a tourist trip to Italy, be sure to follow the requirements and procedures set out above. Contact the Italian embassy in Cameroon to obtain further information and personalised assistance. Remember that it is always advisable to start the application process well in advance to avoid last-minute delays or complications.
