Complaints and Insurance Arbitrator
In accordance with current legislation and IVASS Provisions no. 160/2025 and no. 163/2025, it is possible to resort to theInsurance Arbitrator for the resolution of insurance disputes. The Insurance Arbitrator is an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) system established by IVASS (Italian Insurance Supervisory Authority) that allows customers to obtain an impartial and independent decision without resorting to judicial authorities.
Appealing to the Arbitrator is free or at a low cost, simple and entirely manageable online.

When it is possible to resort to the Insurance Arbitrator
The customer can appeal to the Insurance Arbitrator when:
- has already submitted a written complaint to AMI Assistance;
- did not receive a response within 45 days;
- he considers the response received to be unsatisfactory.
The appeal must concern disputes relating to:
- insurance contracts;
- benefits, settlements or compensation denials;
- behavior of the company or insurance intermediaries.

How to activate the Insurance Arbitrator
If the complaint has not been resolved satisfactorily, the customer can submit an appeal to the Insurance Arbitrator directly online, through the official IVASS portal dedicated to the Insurance Arbitrator. www.arbitroassicurativo.org
Attaching:
- copy of the complaint sent to the company;
- any response received;
- documentation supporting the request.
The operating procedures, terms and responsibilities of the Arbitrator are governed by the current IVASS legislation.
