Complaints and the Insurance Arbitrator
In accordance with the regulations in force and with IVASS Measures No. 160/2025 and No. 163/2025, you may turn to the Insurance Arbitrator for the resolution of disputes in insurance matters. The Insurance Arbitrator is an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) system established at IVASS that allows customers to obtain an impartial and independent decision without resorting to the Judicial Authority.
Recourse to the Arbitrator is free of charge or low-cost, simple, and entirely manageable online.

When you can turn to the Insurance Arbitrator
The customer may file a claim with the Insurance Arbitrator when:
- they have already submitted a written complaint to AMI Assistance;
- they have not received a reply within 45 days;
- they consider the reply received to be unsatisfactory.
The claim must concern disputes relating to:
- insurance contracts;
- benefits, settlements, or refusals to indemnify;
- conduct of the insurance company or of the insurance intermediaries.

If the complaint has not produced a satisfactory outcome, the customer may file a claim with the Insurance Arbitrator directly online, through the official IVASS portal dedicated to the Insurance Arbitrator www.arbitroassicurativo.org
Attaching:
- a copy of the complaint sent to the company;
- any reply received;
- documentation supporting the request.
The operating procedures, deadlines, and powers of the Arbitrator are governed by the IVASS regulations in force.
